Who am I?

When I left South Africa in 1997 and moved to Germany, my life was a whirlwind of uncertainty. I had no job, couldn't speak a word of German, and was pregnant with my second son. My eldest, just seven years old, was grappling with the challenges of adapting to a new culture and language. Those early years were marked by profound loneliness and depression, where most days, the only thing that got me out of bed was the thought of my son returning home from school to find me still in bed.

The only work I could find was teaching English, a job that quickly revealed the gaps in my own understanding of the language. Determined not to be defeated, I embarked on a journey to deepen my knowledge, enrolling in a Master's program in Teaching English. Graduating magna cum laude was more than just an academic achievement—it was a testament to my resilience and newfound purpose.

Teaching became my lifeline, opening doors to incredible opportunities around the world. I taught in Japan, China, South Korea, and Dubai, each experience enriching my life in unexpected ways.

In 2017, I returned to South Africa for a three-year break from teaching, turning my focus to another passion: therapy and counseling. With a background in psychology, I volunteered as a trauma counselor for the South African Police Force, supporting victims of violent crime. This work ignited a deep interest in trauma and self-esteem, inspiring me to pursue a new path as a self-esteem coach.

My journey has been anything but easy, but every challenge has shaped me into the person I am today—someone passionate about helping others overcome their own struggles and discover their inner strength.
